What Makes Me A Grown Up?

I ask this question out loud mainly because I am quickly approaching my 35th Birthday! When I say quickly....I mean I only have 5 more days to say I am 34 years old!

So...what's the big deal you might be asking yourself as you sit and read this? Well...I keep wondering when will I feel like a grown up?

You know, when you were a kid and watched the "grown ups" be" grown ups"... doing "grown up" things meant ...you would BE a "grown up" kinda person.

Ok...so most of you might be thinking Betty is just going through an early "mid-life crisis", and that you will pray for me and it to will soon pass along with her other off-the-wall thoughts. I can see that, however, really.... I just don't know if I will ever FEEL like a grown-up.

Other than the fact that I will be another year older and half-way to 40, married with children,
a registered voter, a member of a local church, and of course an upstanding citizen of the community (how obnoxious of me to brag...I know)....really....
WHAT MAKES ME A GROWN-UP?

What amazes me is how often you speak from my own heart!! (How are you getting in there, anyway?!?!) I have said this to my close friends SO OFTEN!! I just... I dunno, thought it would "feel" different, didn't you?? I, too, am 34, married with kids, etc., and I often wonder if my parents felt much the same while we kids watched them go about "grown-up" things in a grown-up life. I totally relate, sweetie!

LOL, I feel the same way sometimes. I will be 30 next year and I honestly feel like I should still be 16! Where did the time go? AND I dont yet feel "grown up" yet, well Connor reminds me every day that I have come a long way from being 16!!! Ha! I wish you the BEST birthday ever and by the way I would think you are going on 20 judged on your young and caring heart!

I don't know yet and I am 35 [gasp]. :) Betty, seriously, don't ever change because you are one of those rare people who lights up a room with your smile and the person seeing just knows it is from the heart!
